Baby massage has been shown to develop confidence and trust between parent and baby, provide relief to muscular tension, and reduce stress hormones in babies.

The five-week infant massage program creates a wonderful opportunity for parent and baby to:

  • Connect with one another

  • Learn from one another

  • Enjoy one another

Instructor

Led by a certified Cue-Based Infant Massage and Parent Education instructor, a small group will be supported in learning safe and simple massage techniques.

Cue-Based Infant Massage supports parents in learning and understanding the subtle language of babies, thereby strengthening the bond between parent and child.

Method

The instructor will demonstrate massage strokes on a doll, using this as a teaching tool alongside parents. The instructor’s use of a doll (rather than demonstrating with a participating baby) supports the cue-based massage philosophy of providing a parent-child centered space.

The special bond of touch and connection is preserved and cherished between participating parents and their babies.

Philosophy

“[In this baby-led space] the baby is the teacher,

the parent is the student and the instructor is just alongside for the ride.“
